Blue and wild!
The Wild Blue is an extremely challenging trek that takes place in the coastal strip that runs from Padre Longa to Cala Sisine, which is in the territory of Baunei, in the wild eastern part of Sardinia. The route came up in the fevered minds of two Italian mountaineers Mario Verin and Papino Ciclo, who expertly linked the old shepherd trails of Bonnie with sections of ancient mules' tracks of charcoal burners from the late 19th century. Over the years, mainly thanks to the work of local guides, Wild Blue has become a trek for true connoisseurs and lovers of nature and adventure, without compromise!
Day 1 - Arriving in Sardinia
We will land and gather at Sardinia's main airport, and at noon we will set off. Afternoon arrival to the campsite in the “Su Porteddu” Baunei area. A drink and a reception with the local staff, a briefing and getting organized on the equipment. Authentic dinner based on local products and accommodation at the campsite.
Monday - Going out into the wild blue
Breakfast and transfer to Freda Longa. The Salvaggio begins, starting from Padre Longa; through an ancient route mules follow a path that passes along the coastal strip bordering the Porula gorge. After a walk of about forty minutes, the path leaves the magnificent coastal strip and climbs uphill overcoming a significant height difference, passing along the passes of the famous Ponte Girardi, from a mighty laugh - the only real great wall in Sardinia, a destination for climbers who come from all over the world. After overcoming the difference that climbed from sea level, (600 meters above sea level). We will reach the famous and typical pasture complex of De Us Pigius where we will stop to admire the great panorama. We will continue along the Girardilly ridge until we bypass Punta Ginirco and then we will reach two main passes in Bacu Tenadil and then we will follow the path that takes us to the spectacular landscape of Portu Pedrosu where we will set up camp. The duration of the day is about seven/eight hours.
Day 3 - From Porto Pedroso to Punta Salinas
Before us a challenging stage, seven hours of walking and a height difference of 565 m, we will follow a path that will take us around various ravines and walls overlooking the sea until we reach the beautiful panoramic point of Punta Salinas where the spectacular views of the bay are. of Orosei serves as a framework for the beautiful Cala Golotiche and the majestic Agulia that dominates it. We will park as guests of a local shepherd and we will be able to enjoy the rich dinner and perhaps win the Shepherd's Tales, a true historical memory of the area.
Day 4 - From Punta Salinas to Baku Modaluru
From Punta Salinas, after a walk of about an hour, arrive in Boladina, the gateway to the route leaves into the channel of the same name. After passing it we will face one of the most challenging passages of the route and reach the cuiles of Serra Lattone, after climbing another 150 vertical meters, we will reach the extraordinary panoramic peaks of Serra Lattone. Having thus reached the edge of the ridge we find a passage that takes us to an 18m surf that allows us to reach the spectacular town of Mudaluru, where we will establish the camp of the night, ready to welcome the sunrise that will rise above the sea.
Day 5 - From Bacu Mudaloru to Ololbizzi.
The shortest day of the Salvaggio, but a challenging and not easy day. From Bacu Mudaloru we climb a stone slope until we reach the trail that takes us to the spectacular view of Bacu Padente above the famous fig tree cave. Pass by Bacu Padente and reach Su Feilau at the edge of the settlement called Ololbizzi. The area is beautiful, and that's where our team will arrive with an SUV and bring us everything we need to set up a camp and a justified shower.
Day 6 - From Ollaviczi to Cala Sisine
Without a doubt the most beautiful section that leads us to the wonderful beach of Cala Sisine.
The route will end after a six- to seven-hour walk interrupted by rappelling sections and a bit of bare and secure climbing. Once we get to Cala Sisin, time to freshen up and swim in the sea - we deserve it! Then we will head towards the SUVs that will take us towards Golgo and out of the territory back. We will reach the campsite “Su Porteddu” where we will get a hot shower and a local dinner, ending our adventure. Accommodation at the campsite.
