Day 1: Traveling to Costa Rica
Arrival on a regular flight from Tel Aviv to Costa Rica, with a stopover in Madrid. Upon landing a rendezvous with our local team and a trip to Landes Inn Love, a stunning and only-cloud-forest resort. Day 2: Laguna de Hula. 12 km
After breakfast, we set off. About an hour's drive will bring us to Laguna de Hula, a hidden gem in the heart of the Rio Cuarto National Wildlife Refuge in the province of Alachuela. The lagoon, created as a result of a mighty volcanic explosion, lies in the heart of a rich tropical rainforest. We will embark on a circular walking route that is about 12 km long and lasts about 6 hours, which includes a descent into a volcanic caldera. The walk passes among vast trees, mosses, ferns and dense tropical thickets -- a diverse habitat for dozens of bird species, frogs, monkeys and more. The sounds of nature will accompany us along the way, and with the descent to the lake we can enjoy the tranquility offered by the place and of course for those who want it will also be possible to bathe in the clear lake, surrounded by the impressive green walls of the caldera. At the end of the day we will travel to Lands in Love
Day 3: Peñas Blancas and Las Roques area. 16 km
After A. Morning we will be immersed in the Chachagua area, on the way to the famous town of La Fortuna and get ready for a walk. On the way we will pass next to the Pocosol Biological Station and next to the hydroelectric plant of the Penias River Blanks. In part of the day we will pass through the route that passes Las Roques in a spectacular way that in the past connected the great cities of San Ramón and La Fortuna and today serves as home to farms specializing in different agricultural crops. Day 4: La Vieja, Arenal Volcano, Hot Springs. 22 km
This morning we will drive about 35 minutes to the Florencia area and walk the virgin paths of the Viaja area. While climbing to the top (400 m total climb), in the area defined as a cloud forest and you can see a wide variety of animals: sloths, monkeys, iguanas and others. We will continue towards the border with Nicaragua, to the Arenal volcano that is one of the symbols of Costa Rica. Here, at the foot of the mountain, tropical rains refresh the soil and leave it moist and green, the rivers overflowing with water, hot springs, lagoons and wildlife. We will end the day at the hot springs, which are located inside a tropical garden with views of the volcano. A night at the Lands-Inn Love Hotel.
Day 5: Trekking in Montaña Sagrada. 13 km
After breakfast we will travel to Montaña Sagrada, a reserve located close to Ciudad Quesada. In Montaña Sagrada there are three main trails, whose total length is 13 km; Canto dwl las aves whose uniqueness is the many winged ones that can be seen there, Pozo verde with the spectacular azure river and Cacho nergo the longest of the three. Day 6: Day of Extreme — Combo, Canopy, Rafting and Kenyunig
In the morning we will go to a canopic combo above the treetops, on an area of 2000 hectares, the opportunity to see the forest from a somewhat crazy angle. 8 cables, 11 platforms, 3 different tracks, 2 suspension bridges and Tarzan Swing, total 845 meters in length. Later, we will go rafting in level 2-3 on the Balsa River, a wild tropical world is revealed in the deep channel of the river, exotic animals, tropical birds and plenty of water. Power left? We will proceed to the Kenyunig experience in the Cloud Forest Reserve, gliding (rappelling) into a flowing ravine in a series of waterfalls at different heights. Accommodation at Landes Inn Love.
Day 7: Cerro Plado Peak. 25 km
After A. This morning, we'll head out to the Santa Elena and Monte Verde area. Spectacular views of Nicoya Bay and the islands of the region will accompany us on our way to a forest-covered road, known as the Green Mountain. From 1951 an isolated community of North Americans (Quakers) at 1400 meters high and they maintained the area which is a rich biological reserve and ecosystems where visitors meet the animals of this protected environment. On the way, we will take a walk on the Cerro Plado volcano located south of the town of Tilaran, a long day of 25 kilometers, which includes climbing to the summit (total 400 meters cumulative) overlooking the Arenal volcano, the Gulf of Nicoya and the Pacific Ocean. Day 8: Monte Verde Reserve. 18 km
This morning we will walk through the cloud forest of Monte Verde, which allows a glimpse into the ecological campaign of the forest and the walk in which reveals the rich green garden of the area, ferns, flowers and rootless plant species that grow in the trees. The clouds that gather above the slopes provide the moisture necessary for the existence of the abundant vegetation and vitality. WOBBLY ROOTS AND VINES SWEEP THE PATHS. The air is rich with chirping birds and the ease of the small forest animals and sometimes the howling monkey squeals can also be saved. Later we will depart along the Dominican Coast on the South Pacific side of Costa Rica, the beach is known for its incredible landscapes and breathtaking sunsets. On the way (after a 20-minute drive), we will stop for a walk at Finca Lajon, a flat stretch alongside a river accompanied by animals of all kinds. Overnight at the Hotel Willias Rio Mar.
Day 9: Walk in Naranachito and Nauika Falls. 25 km
After breakfast we head north for our last day of walking. We will pass through the town of Naranachito, in the agricultural settlement of Los Campesinos until the border of the National Park “Los Catzales”, from where we will cross Nehrasavagra, until the village of Alsilencio and the Sawagra Bridge, a total of 17 km walk, where our vehicle will wait and take us to the next hiking route, the Nauika Falls where we will take an 8 km route starting at the reserve offices. Further, the walk up to the waterfalls that descend 20-40 meters to a narrow canyon 8 meters wide, forming a huge pool, where you can swim. Overnight at the Hotel Willias Rio Mar.
DAY 10: MANUEL ANTONIO RESERVE AND CRUISE IN CATAMARAN
After breakfast, we will explore the Manuel Antonio Park, which is the most famous in Costa Rica and where: beautiful beaches, mangroves, a chain of islands, a tropical forest and the unique Oba Cathedral. The park consists of four beaches, each of which has special characteristics. Tour with a professional guide explaining about a wide variety of butterflies, monkeys, raccoons and other tailed shrews, snakes, aquatic animals, orchids and more. Then we will embark on a journey that will begin in the port of Kapos, in the clear waters of the open sea along the stunning coast of Manuel Antonio Park. Dolphins swimming near the bow, whales, sea turtles, monkeys and an abundance of birds are part of the landscape. During the cruise we will discover mysterious islands, cliffs and rocks in unique shapes that are home to many types of birds and waterfowl such as pelicans, maggals and others. The cruise includes lunch. Then we will go to the capital city of San Jose, where we will sleep
Day 11-12: San Jose, Seewar City, Markets and Travel Home
After breakfast we will go on a tour of markets in San Jose. Mercado Centrale - a lively indoor market in the heart of San Jose, combining local food, coffee stalls, spices and souvenirs in an authentic atmosphere and Mercado Dhartesnias - an open market of handicrafts, ideal for buying souvenirs from Costa Rica in a relaxed and colorful atmosphere. From there we will leave for the international airport in San Jose, for the journey back home
