Morocco. Trek the High Atlas

DAY 1: TEL AVIV — THE FOOT OF THE ATLAS
We will depart on a regular flight from Tel Aviv and land in Marrakech. From Marrakech we will travel south along the Moulay Brahim gorge up the upper valleys at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and reach our destination, the village of Imi Orld (1450 m), above which rise the peaks Aglazim (3650 m), Aksual (3884 m) and the summit of Jebel Tobkal (4167 m) — the highest peak in North Africa. Here we will meet our team, the mules drivers from the Atlas barbarian tribes and our local team who will accompany us during the trek (we have been working with a permanent team for close to a decade). Dinner and accommodation in the village of Imi Orld.

Day 2: My World — Spell Issa
We'll start the trek on a moderate climber route heading northwest for two hours of acclimatization walk on mule roads. We will pass barley fields, pine groves and juniper towards the Tizi N'Tash mountain pass (2000 m), from where we will have an amazing view of the Imlil and Itosaden valleys below us. We will continue a short distance to Imi Nipri for a refreshment break, from where we will glide for about two and a half hours on a narrow path towards Azib N'at Cosaden and the red clay terraces of Aït Isa village (1750 m), where we will spend the night at the Gasthaus.

Day 3: Isa Spell — Thacanth
After a nutritious breakfast we will glide into the valley below the village and cross the flowing river. We will pass through the walnut groves and climb the back of an amazing spur and then through a narrow valley, until the Tizi N'Tagrorta mountain pass (2000 m). We will go down a gentle and beautiful ravine to a kind of Asaka, where we will stop for a delicious lunch, in the shade of walnut trees by the spring. We will continue a leisurely walk through an impressive landscape of red rock and sandstone, until we reach the barbarian village of T'Kent at an altitude of 1900 m. Accommodation in a guesthouse in the village.

Day 4: T'Kant — Tizi N'Tagdalat — Azib Tamsulat
After breakfast in the village, we will take a walk through walnut groves, corn and barley fields, occasional flocks of sheep and goats and children and women carrying bundles of hand-harvested herbs. We will pass through Tizi n'Tegdalat and descend through the juniper trees to a small sort among the trees. After resting, we will continue to descend for about three hours on the winding road up to a small stream at the beginning of the Assip n'Aït Osaden valley. We will pass through the village of Tizi Hosim (1850 m) and go up to the summer houses of the village to spend the night in Azib Tamsloot, a very special mountain hut at an altitude of 2250 m.

Day 5: Azib Tamsloot — Tuvakal Cabin
After an early breakfast, we will leave the village and climb a path winding in a zigzag, departing from cultivated surfaces and reaching the foot of a huge and impressive waterfall. We will continue the challenging climb of an ancient path that bypasses the waterfall and stop for a view of a broad shoulder at an altitude of 3000 m. In the course of the day we will experience one of the highlights of the trek, crossing a mountain pass at an altitude of 3600 m. The scenery is maddening and dramatic. Enjoy a lunch break on the mountain pass and from there we will ski down a narrow path on a long descent to the climbers' hut at the foot of the Tobakkal, at 3200 m altitude, where we will spend the night.

Day 6: Tobakal Cabin — Jabal Tobakal Peak
Today is *Summit Day*! After an early breakfast, we'll set off with the first light for a significant day -- the climb to the top of the Tobakkal. An amazing and challenging trekking day, passing at the foot of the waterfall, slowly climbs at sunrise along an ancient path and acquaints us with landscapes, which only the angels see every day. After a few hours of climbing, we will reach the highest peak in North Africa (4167 m). The view from the summit is amazing and the feeling accordingly. When we are ready, we will start descending the south path, on a three-hour descent back to the cabin for lunch and a short rest. We will continue down the valley, on a path winding along the length of a flowing river until the tomb of Sidi Shamrouch. The place is built near a small waterfall and is a focal point for pilgrimage, a remnant of the culture that preceded Islam. We will continue down the valley until the village of Armad, the highest between the Berber villages and the Atlas in general — 2000 m. Accommodation in the beautiful gatehouse of the village.
*The climb to the top of the Tobakkal is optional and for those who wish, there is the possibility (accompanied by our guide of course) not to go to the summit, to rise later, to precede the descent to the village and have enough time in the local hammam.

Day 7: Armad—Marrakech
After breakfast we went down through the village and the orchards at its foot. We will walk for about an hour to the village of Imlil, a departure center for excursions in the area, and the last place where an asphalt road reaches, where the transfer to Marrakech will await us. In Marrakech we will have lunch and wander the alleys of the crazy markets of Marrakech, from the stalls of artisans, to the food and souvenir stalls. Dinner in the Old Town Market Center and a special Riyadh stay in the Old City Center.

Day 8: Marrakesh - Tel Aviv
After A. Morning at the hotel we will take a guided tour of the Old Quarter (subject to the scheduled flight time for the afternoon), whoever wishes can make one last tour of the market of Marrakech and then we will leave for the airport. Regular flight to the country.
