An amazing 5-day hiking vacation in the magical Liguria Rope, including a walk in Portofino National Park, hiking trails in Chinqua Terre and more. The routes pass through the colorful villages, unique in their beauty, located above the sea in the area of the cliffs of the Liguria rope. Each village is colorful and special. Some villages do not really have car access and only a short railway line connects them. Inward from the coastline are towering mountains, and a network of ancient hiking trails, links the villages. These are the paths we will follow. Accommodation in one hotel, special, by the sea, in the beautiful village of Sestri Levante.
Day 1: Tel Aviv — Milan
Meeting at Milan airport in Italy, from where we will travel to Sabah Liguria, up to our hotel in the amazing coastal town - Sestri Levante. The hotel is located a 2-minute walk from the waterfront. We will arrange ourselves in rooms and leave the hotel walking through the alleys of the town of Sestri, and straight into the beautiful forest that grows on a dry tongue that rises above the sea. A short walk along the narrow paths will bring us to one of the most beautiful views of the Ligurian Sea - Punta Manara! We will go down another route that will take us to the beach, and apply a short walk on the promenade, until our hotel is back.
Day 2: Sestri - Levanto - Monte Rosso - Varenza
After breakfast we will take a walk to Sestri train station. THE RAILWAY WAS BUILT TO CONNECT THE VILLAGES ALONG THE MOUNTAINOUS COASTAL STRIP, REDUCING VEHICLE TRAFFIC IN THE VILLAGES, TO WHICH ACCESS BY CAR IS PROHIBITED OR NOT POSSIBLE. A short train ride to the village of Levanto. From there we will take a walk to Punta Masco, a peak at the top of the ridge, looking out to the sea. The path is simply fascinating - it starts at the halving of Levanto, passes through a colorful pedestrian street, cafes and vegetable stalls, enters the territory up a long staircase, passes through houses hanging over a cliff, and enters a local jungle forest, with stunning views of the sea. We will reach the summit of the impressive Punta Masco, where we will make a pecan and from the summit we will descend to the village of Monte Russo, the first in Chinqua Terre. We will wander through the village and from there a short train to the next village - Varanza, with its beautiful fishing port, we will disperse for independent wandering, sit in one of the bars and return for dinner in Sestri.
Day 3: Portofino, beach and the town of Camoli
Today we will discover the miraculous nature reserve - Portofino. WE WILL REACH THE TOWN OF CAMOLI, FROM WHERE WE WILL EXIT THE FOREST OF PORTOFINO, A LOCAL JUNGLE, CARRIED OVER THE SEA. We will reach the observation point of the old lighthouse, go down the beautiful paths to the water line for swimming, and return to Camoli by boat. The town of Kamoli is charming, colorful, with a Shin fishing port, cafes on the promenade, the famous Kamoli cheese focaccia and much more. There will be time for wandering by the time we get back to Sestri.
Day 4: Santa Margarita and the magical bay of San Protoso
Today we will walk from the town of Santa Margarita, through a beautiful botanical park that will take us into the forest, cross a mountain pass, through which we will descend an ancient path, paved with local stone, through a beautiful flowing waterfall, to one of the most magical places in Liguria - the Bay of San Protoso. The place can be reached only on foot, or by boat. The bay is amazing, its waters are deep and clear and in the depths of the water the bronze statue of Christ is submerged. Instead of relaxing on the beach, swimming and snorkeling in the special bay. From here we will take a boat to the town of Camuli and wander around the beautiful town.
Day 5: Rio Maggiore and a visit to the winery
The day will begin by bouncing down to the village of Rio Maggiore, perhaps the most photographed village of the Cinque Terre's five, perched on a cliff that descends into the water. We will embark on a not long, circular route, which climbs to a height of 450 meters above sea level, watches over the entire coastline and neighboring villages in Chinqua Terre, and descends to the village center. We will spend the day with a tasting visit to a local winery, local wine and cheeses and if there is extra time we will spend time on the beautiful beach.
